The Château de Chambord, Wanted by Francis I and imagined by Leonardo da Vinci, it is the largest and most majestic of the Loire castles, a testament to the French Renaissance and a symbol of the power of a sovereign passionate about the arts and letters. Listed as a Unesco World Heritage Site since 1981, the castle has been home to many illustrious guests over the centuries for memorable parties and hunting parties, including Louis XIV who completed the work.
